Male имеет значение 'принадлежащий к мужскому полу': male children, male tiger, male choir. Masculine означает 'мужской, характерный для мужчин': masculine character, masculine size in shoes, masculine strength. Masculine употребляется как грамматический термин в значении 'мужской': masculine gender. В применении к женщине masculine означает 'грубый, неженственный, мужеподобный' (о чертах лица, фигуре, голосе): masculine face, masculine voice. Manly имеет значение 'характерный для мужчины' (и в этом значении может взаимозаменяться с masculine): manly courage, manly independence, а также 'мужественный, достойный мужчины': manly decision.
